Almendra y Miel, S.A., manufacturer and owner of the brand 1880, is the most iconic company in the Turróns and Gourmet Candy sector as it is the only company that has maintained family owned and operated since its foundation in 1725. The tradition of making turrón (a traditional Spanish candy made mostly with almonds) has been passed down uninterrupted for ten generations.

The company is located in the town known worldwide as the birthplace of turrón: Jijona, Alicante, where tradition of making turrón began several centuries ago while it was a part of the Arab Kingdom.
